l can not sleep so I've been mentally trying to solve Manchester United is defensive problems (as you do lol). Rio Ferdinand is still a week or more away from a return and his cover, Jonny Evans took a knock on Wednesday night.

If we beat Bolton on Saturday we will be top of the Premier League for the first time this season, The matches are coming thick and fast, the distraction of the FA Cup is upon us and the Champions League knock out phase resumes next month. Thankfully we are in the transfer window.

Would not it make sense if United took on loan a veteran central defender? Even if only for 6 to 8 weeks, just enough to get the current pile up of matches out of the way. We done it with William Prunier (was not he called the bald eagle or something like that?) over a decade ago, Andy Goram was drafted in to deputize between the sticks a few years back.

l think we need another Laurent Blanc figure.

l have thought about the unlikely 'A Class', Nesta, Canavaro etc. Then l remembered that Celtic is Bodo Balde has not featured since pre season. Wolves tried to secure his services but failed, maybe canny Scot to canny Scot, Sir Alex and Gordon Strachan could come to an agreement.

United are in an excellent position at the moment and it would be terrible to see their season suffer because of poor defensive cover.

As for the forward problem (Rooney out for 3 weeks+, Tevez limped through the last 20 minutes against Wigan), l think it is high time we saw what Dmitar Berbatov can do. He has a wonderful opportunity to shine and endear himself to an increasing contingent of the Old Trafford faithful who are becoming frustrated. Cristiano Ronaldo can play a more central role just in front of the midfield until Rooney returns.

Do not worry. SAF has enough depth in the squad to take the Premiership as it is.
United will be back where they belong on Saturday and barring a couple of hiccups will march on to retain the Title.

l doubt a veteran centre-back would ever come to Man United,never mind on loan.If Evans does not recover,we can play either Wes Brown or Gary Neville alongside Vidic at centre-back or start Fabio at left-back,moving O'Shea on the centre.

As for the forward part,if Tevez does not recover on time,there r still Danny Welbeck or Manucho to partner Berbatov.But if Alex Ferguson is not willing to field those players,he can play Ronaldo or Giggs alongside Berba.If Ferguson still wants Ronaldo on the wings,he can play Fletcher & Anderson in midfield & move Scholes forward once again in 5 years.

Whatever it is,Man United can definitely beat Bolton.We beat Chelsea & Wigan without Ferdinand, l can not see why we can not beat Bolton without those players.
