so what is the most amount of passes on a given possession leading to a goal? l know that soccer does not really keep track of that stuff, but great if you know... thanks!

Doubt if there are stats for that. Most I've seen was at club level in a Barca match about 25 or so, then goal. Passing is like an obsession in La Liga more than any other league so likely than not Spain in the WC would have those top figures.


* Found this: WC 2006, Argentina v Serbia Montenegro, group stage match - 24 passes before Cambiasso converted. Not sure if its a record though..
