dude we do not need one. a Manager has his good times & his bad times. & barca unlike Man Utd or Arsenal understands that. if Arsenal had kicked Arsene wenger out already, who knows where they would be now? & Man Utd has bees successful, very successful with Fergie. let is not forget that they have also has very bad years such as l believe between 2002 & 2005 where they were dominated by the likes of Chelsea. we do not wish we got had a Fergie at Barca, cuz right now, we got a better one who is transforming a team in ways Fergie has never done.

l would say that it does not matter - the first 2 (Barca and RM) are hugely successful anyhow. If you have clubs with elected presidents they are going to get elected on mandates of change and improvement.

Pep btw has said he is staying only until 2010, but l still hope he will stay longer. l like the idea of a former player (a legend in our club and a homegrown at that) coming back and coaching the team. As for your point that other clubs dont have all these long staying managers, l think clubs go with what works for them best.

That is one of the flaws that teams in la liga face. esp. the big clubs they never allow for a project to develop fully. as soon as one thing goes sour everyone starts asking for the coach is head. in general la liga supporters tend to be very demanding of their team & unless the job is done perfect there will always be speculation. expectations r always high & unless the manager meets them then can never fully feel secure in keeping their job. guardiola may be doing a superb job now & will without a doubt win something & everyone will be happy. but we all know its not always possible to stay at the top & win silverware & as soon as that happens the fans start demanding for change. there simply is no patience & consistency in these clubs just look at what happened to capello. its an endless cycle that is most likely never going change. the user above makes a very good point that having elections for pres. have a big influence as well.

Not sure about Valencia, but Real and Barcelona never give their managers time to run their teams the way they want. l am sure Real Madrid would have won at least four more titles (and perhaps a Champioms League or two) if they had stuck with at least one of the managers that have had in the last decade.

Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery are both 36, their coaching careers barely started..yet they're doing very good jobs, Arsene Wenger and Ferguson have been coaching for years, especially Ferguson, you do not expect him to be successful as he is now? plus winning the EPL is easier than La Liga because all you need is beat the other big 3 and the title is yours, in la liga you're fighting 20 teams with various strengths.
